About THE ARTIST: aNGELICA lONDON

BIO

Angelica London is a Chicago-based multi-hyphenate mixed media artist and businesswoman. A former elementary art teacher on the South Side, she draws inspiration from the resilience of Black children and women, who often serve as subjects in her work.

As a serial creative entrepreneur, Angelica has found success through ventures like Lit Kit Art Box, which she launched during the pandemic to provide art kits and virtual classes. Her clientele included institutions like Northwestern Law School, Pfizer, and the University of Pittsburgh. The business evolved into a subscription box, earned MBE certification, a trademark, and she is currently developing an in-store kids’ art kit.

A graduate of Columbia College Chicago, Angelica has exhibited alongside notable Chicago artists and was featured at Spectrum during Art Basel Miami in 2019. She also completed a residency at Wndr Museum. Her live painting skills are often requested by nonprofits, and her work is housed in the headquarters of ORS Haircare and New Moms.

Her ultimate goal is to boost self-esteem in the Black community by creating positive, self-affirming imagery.
